Results for the 2009 Orange Blossom Art Competition
Firstly thank you to everyone who entered!
There were some great entries and all were of a high standard. For those of you who have Cooliris installed on your browser the Cooliris 3D Gallery gives superb view of all the entries in a single view!
Secondly, an apology for taking a couple of weeks longer than hoped to get the results collated. This was the first time we have used this format and we had to learn some new skills (amongst other things) to process the raw data out of the database.
So here is a list of all the entries and how they stacked up in terms of
Each of the measurement criteria has a cut off for a merit award. For instance entries that achieved a score of 50 or more in the "No of views" criteria are on the merit list for that criteria.
Merit criteria were:
No of views: 50 or more
No of comments: 10 or more
No of votes: 10 or more
Average rating: 4.0 or more
As you can see from the results, some people were more familiar than others with how to use their "social network" to attract interest. In our opinion this is a good thing, and although not strictly an artistic skill, it is a way that an artist can get images of his or her work out in front of a viewing audience. We are happy to hear any views on this (either for or against).
So based on the results ... here are the entries that achieved merit list status ...
And here are some entries that do deserve special mention ... most achieved the merit list in all 4 criteria ...
